Welcome to Bitterbrush Walkers On-line!

Bitterbrush Walkers is located in the Columbia Basin area of Eastern Washington. It's an incredible place to live and have horses. We are surrounded by irrigated farms, rocky canyons, lakes and sagebrush covered hills. Our winters are usually mild with little snow allowing us to ride yeaBittebrush Walkersr round. There are plenty of places to ride that allow us to enjoy wildlife and wide open views.

We raise and train Tennessee Walking horses for pleasure riding and trail use. Our horses are bred for natural gait and pleasing dispositions. We usually have a few foals born every year, as well as older horses trained by us, available for sale. Our emphasis has gradually changed from breeding and selling weanlings and yearlings, to having more well-trained, physically and mentally mature horses available.

One of our primary goals is to raise naturally gaited Tennessee Walkers, and to train them in a manner that we have come to believe is very important in developing calm confident horses. Our idea of raising and training young horses starts with waiting until the youngsters are in our opinion, mature enough both physically and mentally to be ridden.

We also believe that understanding our horses is very important, because just like people, all horses are not alike and they can't be handled and trained in the same way. While each horse is waiting to "come of age" to be ridden, we evaluate where each is individually and work with them accordingly.

Lessons are also available whether it's beginner lessons or working on a problem you may be experiencing with your horse. Your horse may be gaited or non-gaited and lessons can be given at your place or ours.

We invite you to visit our farm and meet the horses but please call or email to make sure we are home and to get directions.

For more information or to schedule lessons, please contact Kyya Grant using our Contact Form  or phone at 509-346-2218 for more information.
